About market247

A small team building a calmer way to discover what to eat. No dark patterns, no algorithmic feed, no checkout.

market247 started with a simple question: why does it still feel so hard to find a good place to eat? Search engines give you ten ads, four SEO farms and a listicle. Delivery apps push you toward whatever pays them the highest commission. And the menu photos never match what lands on the table.

We thought we could do better. So we built market247 as a curated food-discovery platform — one that treats restaurants with respect, treats diners like adults, and treats photographs as evidence rather than decoration.

What market247 actually is

  • A directory of restaurants that have been visited, eaten at and photographed in person.
  • A catalogue of dishes, with real ingredients, real prep times and real photos — not stock shots.
  • A search experience that respects your time and your data.

What market247 is not

  • It is not a delivery service. We don't take orders, process payments or ship food.
  • It is not a marketplace. Restaurants don't pay to be listed, and we don't take a cut of their sales.
  • It is not a social network. There are no public profiles, follower counts or push notifications.

How we choose what to feature

Restaurants on market247 are not ranked by sponsored placements. Our editorial team adds kitchens that meet three basic criteria: real food, honest sourcing, and a menu that travels well in photographs. Ratings come from verified diners, not from review widgets.

Real photos

Every dish is photographed in natural light, on real plates, by people who ate the meal. No stock photography, no AI-generated fillers.

Honest sourcing

We highlight kitchens that name their farms, their butchers and their roasters. Where a kitchen doesn't, we say so.

No dark patterns

No pop-ups asking for your email. No countdown timers. No “only 1 left” nudges. market247 is read-only on purpose.
